Animal House

Lately we’ve been inundated with visits from the neighborhood pets. There’s Fluffers*, the front neighbors white and black longhair cat, Steely Dan, the black with white paws short-haired cat that is new to the neighborhood, Tabbers, the, not surprisingly, tabby cat from down the street, and One-Eyed Jack, the canine pet of the front neighbor. All have decided that our French doors opening to the driveway are a welcome invitation to walk inside, not just once, but numerous times. Then, tonight, we had a new visitor, Thumper, the neighborhood nesting bunny. Now, he or she wasn’t so much desirous of a catch up at our house, but was rather forced to call in when the cat clan chased it into the house. Not much of a talker, we let him/her rest for a bit in the corner, and then safely transferred it outdoors. I always knew that kiwis were a friendly bunch, dropping in at a moments notice. I guess this extends to the quadruped sector of the society.
